Laser Therapy
Laser Therapy or (Low Level Laser Therapy, LLLT), is the application of red and near infra-red light over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing and give relief for both acute and chronic pain. Dr. Novak is certified in the Laser’s use and is one of the very few doctors in the area to offer Low Level Laser Therapy.
Low level lasers are different than more publicized heat lasers that are used in many surgical procedures to cut, and cauterize tissue. Low level lasers do not have a thermal effet and are used to stimulate, rather than destroy tissue. These type of lasers have been in use for over 25 years and there has yet to be one recorded side effect. Low level laser studies have been done and have proven to be effective in many cases, but it was the ERCHONIA™ laser that made history by becoming the first low-level laser in the world to gain FDA market clearance for the treatment of chronic neck andshoulder pain. This was proven through two double-blind studies to prove the efficacy fo the ERCHONIA™ laser on chronic pain. View www.erchonia.com for more information on this therapy.
